Frequently Asked Questions

HAVE QUESTIONS?
Here are some answers to help you feel confident and informed about starting your therapy journey with us.
-
What is the cost of each session? Each session costs $130.
-
Do you accept insurance?Yes! We participate with the following insurances: Capital Blue Cross, Geisinger, Highmark/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, United Healthcare, and UPMC. Each insurance plan has different coverage, so please contact your insurance provider to ensure coverage for each service.
-
Do you offer sliding scale options for payment?Yes. We do not want finances to prevent access to care. Please discuss specific needs during your consultation call.
-
Will you provide me with a Good Faith Estimate? If you do not have insurance or are not planning to use your insurance benefits for services, yes! You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service or at any time during treatment. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
-
How do I know we'll be a good fit?The relationship between you and your therapist is the strongest indicator of your success in treatment. Ensuring a good fit is important to us both. During your free consultation call, we encourage you to ask questions about the therapist’s approach to therapy, experience, and anything else that would be important for making this decision. Throughout treatment, we’ll continue to check in and make sure you continue to feel it is a good fit.
-
How many sessions will I need? This depends on many factors and will be discussed with your therapist throughout your treatment. Most clients start finding benefits in treatment immediately but typically require at least 12 sessions to resolve presenting issues.
-
What is animal-assisted therapy, and how could it benefit me?The use of animals by health professionals in their work is called Animal Assisted Therapy. Numerous studies show that interacting with animals helps lower blood pressure, increases engagement, and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. The presence of an animal can help clients feel calm and safe, allowing the verbalization of thoughts and feelings.
